HyperEVM: How to Bridge and Withdraw Tokens?

HyperEVM is an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible network that operates independently from Hyperliquid Layer 1 (L1). If your tokens are on Hyperliquid L1, you’ll need to bridge them first to use them on the EVM chain.

The HL team has made the transfer process simple and fast. They’ve set up a special system address that acts as a bridge between the networks. When it receives an incoming transaction on L1, it automatically sends the equivalent amount to your address on the EVM chain. No extra steps required.

Bridging Tokens from L1

Important: Currently, you can only bridge HYPE tokens. More assets will be supported in the future.

  1. Copy the system address: 0x2222222222222222222222222222222222222222
  2. Go to the Hyperliquid website and locate the token in your balances.
  3. Send the desired amount to the system address you copied.

Bridging is usually instant, but minor delays may occur. We recommend making a small test transaction first—for example, sending 0.001 HYPE—to ensure the process works smoothly. Since Hyperliquid is still developing the network, this is a good safety practice.

Withdrawing from HyperEVM to L1

Withdrawing works the same way but in the opposite direction:

  1. Open your MetaMask or any compatible wallet.
  2. Send the tokens from the EVM side to the system address.
  3. Once the transaction is confirmed, your L1 balance will be updated.

Note: EVM transactions may take longer as they are processed on-chain.

Troubleshooting

Tokens not showing up on EVM? Double-check that you’ve selected the correct network in your wallet. If the wrong network is chosen, your balance won’t appear.

By following these steps, you can seamlessly bridge and withdraw tokens between Hyperliquid L1 and HyperEVM.
